Bernadette sent me her wedding gown to have a romper made for her first grandson as well as a kerchief for her daugther’s coming wedding. Her gown had some beautiful older lace that had colored with age. We decided to use that on the faux vest of the romper. It made such a beautiful little man’s outfit.

Dear Liane,

I would just like to thank you from the bottom of my heart what you did for me and my family for my new grandsons christening outfit. You went way above what I thought it was going to look like, we were away and I received the box, my husband and I both sat in such a state when we saw what you made from my gown. it is so beautiful and unique I can’t tell you how I felt. I sat and cried on how it turned out. you are right it is an heirloom and hopefully many generations will wear this outfit. the cap was also perfect. I love the bonnets but for this outfit that cap is going to look great.

Also thank you for the bib, I cried with that too, it is so perfect.

I will take pictures of my grandson at his christening and will certainly send you some and write a note about what you did for us. your work is superb and I already have been telling people about you and your web site.

Also thank  you so much for the handkerchief you made, I will be giving that to my daughter at her bridal shower at the end of this month and I know for certain she will carry it with her with pride, she always loved my gown and said it was a shame that people don’t do anything with their wedding dresses. so when she sees what I did she will be thrilled.

Don’t you worry if I have a grand daughter you better be ready with your magic cause I will be calling on you. Thank you again for everything …

Bernadette

So thankful I found your site on the computer.

Merry Beth Grindahl sent her mother's fur coats to have bears made for her and her siblings. We mixed the two furs, making the bulk of the bears from one and accenting them with the other. Merry Beth was kind enough to send some pictures of the bears when she got them, along with a photo of her mother wearing one of the furs.

Carmen Valdes sent her mother-in-law's fur coat to have bears made for the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We were able to get five good-size bears from the fur. Dark fur is hard to photograph so this photo really doesn't do them justice. It is funny how, no matter how you try to make each bear the same, each seems to end up with its own personality. ... Marelne Gruenfelder wanted her wedding dress converted into a couple of heirloom items that she could use and appreciate. We made her a Christmas tree topper Angel and a very unique wall hanging.

We had agreed that the wall hanging would contain applique design but, when I set down to create a design concept, I decided to experiment with fabric sculpture so that some of the flowers would be more 3-D. The floral elements toward the bottom of the hanging came directly from her WD bodice and skirt. The "vine" that winds from the bottom to the top is from the straps of her gown and, of course the roses are made from the gown fabrics. The overall size of this is 18" x 24". It has hoops for putting dowel rods at the top and bottom for hanging, or it could be framed for display as well.

Tyrssa Philpot sent her wedding dress to have a unisex baptism outfit made for her son and future children/grandchildren to wear. Even though the outfit is intended to be unisex, she wanted us to use some of the lace and she wanted it as long as we could get.

Her WD was pretty fitted, which made getting a long gown from it a bit more difficult. We had to work with the seams quite a bit. However, we were able to get a "Bishop" style gown from it and used the lace mesh over the satin. We kept the large collar plain to make it more unisex. In addition to the gown, we made a matching bib, headband, booties and diaper cover as well as a gathered rose corsage.

Thought I'd share this blast from the past. A couple of year ago I made this custom doll to enter into a local competition. The rules of the competition were that we had to sew something using onlly a t-shirt, a piece of lingerie and a pillow case. I literally pulled the threads from the fabric to create her hair and she is stuffed with shredded pieces from the garments. ... See MoreSee Less
