Christening Gown Uses Elements from Mom’s Wedding Dress

Change in Plans Jennifer didn't want her daughter's gown to be extra long and originally wanted a unisex gown with overlay and vest. When I sat down with the WD I knew the base satin in the dress was too heavy to do anything other than the Bishop style and have it both look good and not be too heavy for the baby. Unfortunately, an overlay and vest would make the whole thing too bulky so we suggested doing the gown and seperate boy's romper instead. This gave us the ability to use the pretty translucent fabrics from the WD as an overlay directly attached to the gown without the gown becoming too heavy. We then did the faux vest jumper using some of the decorative elements from the WD in the vest.Jennifer didn’t want her daughter’s gown to be extra long and originally wanted a unisex gown with overlay and vest.
