Gifts That Tie Generations Together

Complete Christening Ensemble for a Godson

We wanted to use some of the lovely bead work but didn't want to make the robe too feminine so we created strips from the bead work and satin fabric to run down both sides of the robe opening

Julia Frei wanted a complete ensemble for her godson from her wedding dress. We used every bit of fabric we could to get a bishop style gown with a ceremonial robe, a bit, booties, bonnet and bow tie pin. We put pleats down the front of the gown and used the blue satin piping from her veil as accent on each side. We also used the piping as accent on most of the accessories.

Susan sent us her late mom's stole and mink boa to have these bears made as Christmas gifts for her and her sisters. We often receive boas and, although we can rarely get a whole bear from the amount of fur in them, they work really well for accent fur (bellies, muzzles, ears) to another fur like this.

Linda Bottorff sent us a second friend's wedding dress to have us make two Christmas tree skirts and four ornaments. In this case, the wedding dress had a pretty trim lace that worked really well on the outer edge of the tree skirt. The fabrics were light-weight enough to use our traditional pattern for the ornaments.

Linda Bottorff sent her friend's wedding dress to have us make a Christmas tree skirt and six ornaments from it. The combination of lace and satin made a lovely tree skirt. For the ornaments, the fabrics were too heavy to wrap around a foam ball so we used a different style that uses sewn circles in a way that allowed us to use the small scraps of lace that were left.
