Custom Quilted Gifts from Your Fabric Garments

I have been asked by several people for additional ideas of what they could do with clothing they had from someone special in their lives. Quilting is a wonderful, traditional way to use a variety of fabrics in items that can be shared from one generation to another so I'm offering this sevice for those interested. I'm starting off with a couple of simple items that could be done in multiples for giving multiple loved ones.

Although quilting is something I do well, my younger sister, Jodie, is an absolutely beautiful quilter and has agreed to provide her services through this site. So, I may be asking you to send her the fabrics and payment. She loves to quilt as much as I love to make teddy bears.

Memory Quilts

Memory quilts come in two sizes: A lap quilt (36" x 72") and a crib quilt (45" x 60"). They can be backed with a soft fleece to make them particularly soft and warm. These samples were made by my sister Jodie.

A lap or crib quilt costs $95 to make plus shipping ($15)

If you want more than one, I'll find out if she will give quantity discounts. these are a lot of work, she puts an incredible amount of time and energy into her quilts and they are beautiful.

Memory Pillow Shams

If you have several items of clothing and want a way to preserve the memories using them, pillow shams are a wonderful way to display those fabrics. In addition, they are durable and easily pass down from generation to generation.

I like using these two basic patterns pictured here. One is the pierre point star in circle and the other is a woven square. Both of these can use 3-6 different fabrics and make beautiful accents to just about any room.

Shipping will run $8 for the first item and $2 for each additional item
